SEO + GEO
Optimize a page for both classic search retrieval and AI citation. Treat SEO as the discovery layer and GEO as the extraction and recommendation layer.
Non-negotiables
- Place the primary keyword in at least 4 of 6 locations: URL slug, title tag, H1, H2, meta title, body intro
- Place primary entity and adjacent entities naturally in title, H1, intro, body
- Run entity gap analysis against top competitors
- Add JSON-LD schema in the page
<head> - Mirror on-page entities inside schema fields
Workflow
1. Classify the page
- Page type, primary query, search intent
- Primary keyword + 3–8 variants
- Primary entity + supporting entities
- Target platforms: Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini
2. Audit SEO coverage
- Keyword placement, title quality, meta description, clean slug
- Heading hierarchy, internal links, canonical URL
- Image alt text, structured data
3. Audit GEO / AI citability
- Does the page answer the query directly and early?
- Are claims specific, sourced, and structured?
- Is factual density high enough for extraction?
- Does schema markup surface entities for AI grounding?
4. Fix and implement
- Rewrite weak headings, thin intros, and missing entity coverage
- Add or fix JSON-LD schema
